Now that we have started Unit 3 "Our Community", this week's homework is about vocabulary.
You remember that we have four colours to divide the community up - YELLOW, RED. BLUE and GREEN.
From the list of ten (10) words below put each word in the correct colour group, for example, RESTAURANTS = RED (because it's a business), or another example, MUSIC= GREEN ( because this is where we relax and enjoy the special things in our community, things like music).
You don't need to say why, just put them in what you think is the best colour zone.
Have you got the idea?
The main thing is to think first, and then have shot. Sometimes you might think that the word belongs in more than one colour zone. This is possible. If you think so, then just say = RED+GREEN.
READ the list carefully, if you don't understand a word, use a dictionary.

The only one you should think about is PRIDE. I think it is special and covers more than one zone.

I think I would disagree with "swimming pool" - it's not really a building, but it might fit into two zones. And"information" couldn't be blue zone alone.
"Pride" is tricky. You really need to understand pride. Think of it like this - if everyone like their community, how many zones would we find PRIDE?

OK William, Red is special. Think about "ang pao". So I think there are two of them that you should change if you understand the meaning and these two are definitely red.
Another one is "pride". it's tricky because if your community is a good one, then everyone should feel pride, so it must be one than one colour zone. Think about it and I'm sure you'll get it.

Brian, Just ask your folks about "pride". it's a very important word. The trouble is you can't touch or see it really - it's a feeling.
As far as I know in BI it starts with a "K" and in the middle it's got an "ang" and it ends in an "n."

Just think about "pride" like this.
If people really, really like the place where they live, work and relax, they will feel "pride" no matter where they are in the community.
"Pride" is what would make you invite people to come and have a look at your community.

Any way, Looking at your wprk, it's OK, just check "banking" - I don't see it in any place other than red because red is for business and banks need to make money, right?
One other thing to think about and even more important is this thing called "pride".
"Pride" is a feeling. It's a feeling of being happy about something. If we have a good feeling about the place where we live, where should we feel it, everywhere, or just one or two places. What do you think?
