HOMEWORK 27 AUGUST 2008

This is just a note because your teachers will have given you the instructions in class.
The important thing to remember is that building a good, strong vocabulary is one of the most important jobs you have to do in primary school.
No words- no English right?

The idea at the moment is to find connections between words from our class vocabulary lists on the walls.

For example, what word might go with executive? Yes, director. Others are manager, boss, distributor, businessman, employee, work, job and owner.

That's ten words you've recognized - not bad, yeah?

The idea is to keep looking at your vocabulary list. It gets bigger unit by unit, but also day by day.
The more you look at the words, the more they will become part of your own vocabulary, for life!

Book Reports

Well done 3A yesterday for focusing and picking up the idea about how to write a good book report.
It's early days yet, but I am confident that we will soon have a lot of very good reports coming through from you guys.

HOMEWORK 13 AUGUST 2008

Great! You've found the Year 3 blog. Do you know what blog means? Find out.

Anyway, first things first - the homework. Read the following story and answer the questions (only two of them).

Johnny Appleseed had six apples on Sunday. On Monday he ate 3. On Tuesday, he ate 1 and he gave the other two to Sally, his friend.

Questions:

1. How many apples did Johnny have on Wednesday?

2. What did Sally do with her apples?

Click on COMMENTS and type in your answers there. Don't forget to sign your name - that's very important because YOU and your ideas are IMPORTANT.

Good luck!
Good hunting!
Good fun!
Phil
