HOMEWORK 5 NOVEMBER 2008
Now that we have started Unit 3 "Our Community", this week's homework is about vocabulary.
You remember that we have four colours to divide the community up - YELLOW, RED. BLUE and GREEN.
From the list of ten (10) words below put each word in the correct colour group, for example, RESTAURANTS = RED (because it's a business), or another example, MUSIC= GREEN ( because this is where we relax and enjoy the special things in our community, things like music).
You don't need to say why, just put them in what you think is the best colour zone.
Have you got the idea?
The main thing is to think first, and then have shot. Sometimes you might think that the word belongs in more than one colour zone. This is possible. If you think so, then just say = RED+GREEN.
READ the list carefully, if you don't understand a word, use a dictionary.
The LIST: (10 words only)
INFORMATION ........
EMPLOYMENT..........
SWIMMING POOL........
CINEMAS........ MAYOR.........
FOUNTAINS......... ........RULES.............
PRIDE
............................ BANKING
COMMERCE.
Type in your answers below on COMMENTS and don't forget to put use your name.
Of course, you will be able to see what other students think, but you just trust yourself and put the words in the colour zones that you think are correct.
Later, you can check for my answers.
So, it's easy really. It's just about TRYING.
GOOD LUCK!!!
