What a Wonderful World
3D appeared to enjoy learning the lyrics to the old, Louis Armstrong song, "What a Wonderful World" today.
Don't worry 3A, your time is coming after the holiday.
Why do we learn songs? Well, it's probably got quite a lot to do with those things on each side of you head, plus one or two other things , but I'll leave you to guess what the other reasons might be. I know you are all quite good at guessing.

Our Trip to Puri Mall
I think both classes did very well on your inquiry journey to Puri.
The way you listened to Pak Ronnie when he spoke to you about the history of Puri mall and the materials they used was very pleasing. And the way you asked "bucket loads" of questions in the jewelry stores was also very good indeed.
The look on your faces told us teachers that you really work at it on occasions like this and you find it very enjoyable. You showed us that this way of studying is very valuable.
A big part of the success was "behind the scenes" with Ms. Claudia organizing the whole thing by writing letters to the mall management first and of course, the people in the gem stores. Weren't they good?
After the holiday, we need to knuckle down( get to work) and write a thank you letter to these people. Good idea?

Additional Blogs
Guys, we simply cannot have everyone from 3D or 3A opening up their own blogs on this site.
It is becoming a huge mess. A monster mess!
The whole idea is backup for what you do at school, your portfolio, your class records, your homework schedules.
So please, make your comments on your class blog ONLY -littlejumboos.
You all need to become "expert" at using your own class blog effectively, reading instructions accurately. You all have to learn to get around your own class blog. You have to learn to scroll well and find work. You should have read every article and every comment on your blog since we started it. You have to be able to do this all by yourself - independently.
Only then will you be able to say that not only do you understand the purpose of the blog, but that you have proven that you know how it works and its value to you , your classmates, your teachers, your school and your parents, of course.
So, opening up other blogs will only distract all of you from doing what you should do and what you need to do well.
At the moment, we (the teachers) know that most of you cannot do these things and most of you are not even able to read and understand the instructions. That's why you have to practice - you have to visit your blog often - every week, better every day.

HOMEWORK 3 SEPTEMBER 2008
HOMEWORK this week is a little trickier, but you guys are reasonably well prepared.
Write your first book report on any fiction story you like. Take your English Exercise Books home and follow the basic pattern from "The Dog and the Bone" and you should be OK.
Remember that you need a good score of 9/10 to go up reading level and that takes practice.
